I’m Bill, an American designer who is currently back in the tri state area after 10 years in Europe working as a graphic designer, art director, UX designer, creative director, and product designer. These are all just different titles for basically the same thing: I design products that help my clients achieve a better relationship with their customers.
I've worked in multinational ad agencies as well as digital startups so I'm familiar with the variety of budgets, team members, and strategies involved in each. I've found that I'm at my best working with individuals and teams who know what they don't know and trust the process. Because it is a process. Today, I help my clients through designing and helping to build digital products that resonate and bring delight to their customers.
In terms of designing, I'm passionate about at first figuring out and then solving tough customer problems by combining considerate research, clever technology, and beautiful design. I have consistently worked with and therefore understand the apprehensions of business owners, designers, and developers and understand that these concerns are not always the same. I feel as comfortable communicating with C-level executives about ROI, customer acquisition ratios, and KPIs as I do nerding out with engineers about the minutiae of API tokens, micro-interactons, or CMS applications.
For the past two years I have been teaching myself how to code and it's becoming an increasing important tool in my workflow. I've also come to understand the importance of business in design during this time. It's not important how pretty something looks, if it doesn't help my client increase conversions or revenue.
Besides design, I'm a basketball junkie and unfortunate Knicks fan who wastes way too much time here.
